We want everyone who visits the team218.com website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding.

What are we doing?

To help make team218.com a positive place for everyone, we build and maintain this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and more usable for everyone.

The guidelines define three levels of conformance: A, AA, and AAA. We target Level AA for team218.com, and we hold the sites we build for clients to the same standard.

In practice, that means:

Keyboard navigation. Every interactive element can be reached and operated without a mouse, in a logical tab order.
Visible focus states. You can always see where you are on the page when navigating by keyboard.
Color contrast. Text meets the 4.5:1 minimum ratio, and large text meets 3:1.
Descriptive alt text on images that carry meaning, and empty alt attributes on decorative ones so screen readers skip them.
Labeled form fields, with errors described in text rather than signalled by color alone.
Semantic structure. Real headings in a logical order, landmarks, and a skip-to-content link.
Scalable text. Pinch-zoom is never disabled, and the layout holds up at 200% zoom.
No information conveyed by color alone. Anything signalled with color is also signalled with text, shape, or an icon.

How are we doing?

We have worked hard on team218.com and believe we have met our goal of Level AA conformance. We review the site regularly to keep it there.

We will be straightforward about the limits of that claim. Accessibility is not a box you tick once. New content, third-party embeds, and plugin updates can all introduce problems after a page has passed review. If you hit a barrier on this site, that is a defect on our end, not a limitation on yours, and we want to hear about it.
