Memorial Day 2021

Memorial Day 2021

On this Memorial Day 2021 we celebrate in reverence all those who paid the ultimate price to protect our freedoms. As you enjoy this long weekend across the USA with family gatherings and life returning to the “new norm” don’t forget the reason for this holiday.

Celebrated yearly on the last Monday in May, this holiday originally know as Decoration Day got its’ start shortly after the Civil War. It became an official Federal Holiday in 1971. We have come to associate it as the unofficial beginning of Summer.

If you’d like to learn more about the history of this special holiday, we suggest checking out the History.com website. You can find more of our writings on our Team 218 Blog.
